AWR6843AOPEVM: Splitting MISSION AOP and BREAKAWAY board.

Hi Team,

I am using AWR6843AOPEVM board in our design. We need a board with small form factor for our design, so we planned on splitting the MISSION AOP board and the BREAKAWAY board.

1.Does it affects the functionality of the module?

2.Is there any document explaining how splitting of the board is done?

3.Does the mounting holes provided as in the figure, is used for splitting the board?

Any suggestions/feedbacks would be appreciated.

Hi Vishnu,

Yes, the location you indicated is the place to split the board. There is not a specific document on splitting the board, but you should be able to manually separate the boards with your hands or use a generic PCB cutting tool to split the boards along that perforated line. There are details on the functionality of the Mission AOP board and Breakaway board in the "60GHz mmWave Sensor EVMs" (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swru546).
