AWR1843: Can user call rlRfInitCalibConfig with differenct setting multi times in one power cycle?

Hi,

My customer wants to call rlRfInitCalibConfig with different setting multi times without power on/off device.

But after changing rlRfInitCalibConfig setting, customer met MMWAVE_RF_CPU_FAULT error after call RFinit.

Would you pls kindly advise if customer can call rlRfInitCalibConfig with different setting multi times in one power cycle? I didn't find such limitation in DFP ICD.

If it is ok, would you pls kindly advise what may cause the MMWAVE_RF_CPU_FAULT error? What may be missed?

We do not recommend issuing this API multiple times. It is also mentioned in the ICD in note2 as below.

I knew it is not recommended. But I want to know customer use case can work or not in theory because customer need to have such use case.

if customer didn’t change the settings of init Calibration, RFinit can call multiple time without problem.

Would you pls help again?

Hi Chris,

It is not recommended to call this API multiple times (it does not matter whether you change any configuration or not). For further calibrations we have APIs like Run time Calibrations to handle that. So, user can use them as many times as required.

Can you provide details as to why the customer wants to run the RFinit API multiple times. What is the purpose for this.
