According to the datasheet of this part, there is a cover glass over the detector. What thickness is this cover glass?

The datasheet is this one that is on the product page. On the first page it has a diagram with the cover glass and the detector underneath.

Or is the cover glass not part of the product?

Hi Victoria,

Correct, cover glass is not part of the product. This is an example of an application where light sensor can be placed behind a cover glass and still achieve the sensor performance

Hi Victoria,

There is a photodiode embedded within the chip package that measures the color properties of the light source that illuminates the device.
