TMP75: SW and spec difference between A/C version

Part Number: TMP75

Hi Team,

Is there any SW difference between TMP75AIDR and TMP75CID?

Can they be substituted for each other?

Thanks for your support and time.

Darren

  • Hi Darren,

Thanks for posting to the Sensors Forum.

Yes, there are some difference in register structure between the TMP75 and TMP75C, as shown in the table below.

    • The five LSBs of the configuration register are the same for each device (FQ, POL, TM, and SD), although the TMP75 has fault queue options of 1, 2, 3, and 4 faults whereas the TMP75C has fault queue options of 1, 2, 4, and 6 faults.
    • The TMP75 has converter resolution bits R1 and R0 that allow temperature resolution of 9 to 12 bits; the TMP75C does not have this feature, it has a fixed resolution of 12 bits.
    • Operating in one-shot mode is also different for the two devices--please see the one-shot mode section of each datasheet for more information.

Both devices use continuous conversion in default mode. The typical conversion rate of the TMP75C is 12 Hz, so if continuous conversion mode is used, the FW will have to be changed to reflect this change in default typical conversion timing of 37 Hz of the TMP75.
