IWR6843AOPEVM: IWR6843AOPEVM and IWR6843ISK-ODS Compatibility

Our customer wants to run the Radar Toolbox demos.

Do the demos work equally well with both IWR6843AOPEVM and IWR6843ISK-ODS?

For example, does the following "Fall Detection Using mmWave" work with IWR6843AOPEVM?

dev.ti.com/.../Fall_Detection_Using_mmWave.html

The above demo uses the FW for "3D People Tracking", which works with IWR6843AOPEVM.

dev.ti.com/.../3d_people_tracking_user_guide.html

The radar performance of the IWR6843AOPEVM and IWR6843ISK-ODS appears equal.

Is a different configuration required from IWR6843ISK-ODS for "Fall Detection Using mmWave" to work with IWR6843AOPEVM?

If so, could you provide the configuration file required for 'Fall Detection Using mmWave' to work with IWR6843AOPEVM?

    Hi,

    1. To move from ISK to AOP, 3 parameters need to change in the .cfg file sent to the device (due to different antenna patterns): antGeometry0, antGeometry1, antPhaseRot. You can look in the 3D People Tracking example (which has configurations for both AOP and ISK) to see what the values should be.
    2. Performance should be very similar between the two devices.
