AWR2243BOOST: AWR2243

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243, MMWCAS-RF-EVM

Hello,

We are using a custom board design with 4x AWR2243 chips in cascade. We have seen an issue recently where we intermittently see the power level on some chirps dropping off, please see the ADC sample level plot below for an example. As a result when we perform a range-Doppler FFT, the energy on some frames is spread out as sidelobes along the Doppler dimension, causing spurious CFAR detections, see below for an example Range-Doppler heatmap showing this.

We're trying to debug this and get to the bottom of the cause at the minute, and were wondering if you have observed any similar behaviour before? We're sampling at 13.12 MSps (complex sampling), using TDM, 128 chirp loops (12 chirps per loop), 256 samples per chirp. The time period that this occurs at seems to be intermittent, but it looks like it's typically lasting for a duration of 44-45 chirp loops, or approximately 16 ms.

Thanks
