I am looking for an IC chip that would work as an SPL meter (converting dBV into dB SPL). It would be connected to a microphone. I have the other parts of the circuit, it's just the conversion that I am struggling with.

Hi Helen,
Welcome to our e2e forum! Texas Instruments does not have a stand alone chip that performs this function and I'm not aware of any single chip solution out there. Here is a link to a simple schematic that shows the front end of what I believe you are trying to do. The meter output (J1, J2) would then go to potentially one of our ADC's and then you would need to convert dB V into dB SPL through some math on a microcontroller.
I'm afraid that it is the maths that I am struggling with. All suggestions on the internet that I have found so far don't seem to work well. Thank you anyway.
