AWR2243: "boot time calibration was not performed" Error

Part Number: AWR2243

On our 4 chip cascade radars, one of the board has one AWR2243 exhibits following issues.

It gaves error code 125, which, according the documents, means "TX power run time calibration was requested but boot time
calibration was not performed"

This is our early engineering sample batches, and only one AWR chip on one radars has this issue, and this issue also somewhat intermittent (there were times that it was OK).

We are trying to figure out the root cause of this, and would appreciate on TI experts inputs.

Thanks!

Li

  • Hi Li,

    1) Please check if the boot time calibration is enabled or not.

    2) Also check the status flag after boot time calibration to see if the Tx power calibration was successful or not.

    3) Also please check your API programming sequence if it is as per the ICD (Interface Control Document).

    Thanks,

    Pradipta.

  • Thanks for reply.
We've enabled and checked boot time calibration but the result shows that Tx power calibration and RX IQMM calibration failed.

  • Hi,

    1) Check if the boot time calibration bit for RX IQMM is enabled or not.

    2) Check if the Boot time calibration bit for Tx power calibration (bit 9) is enabled or not in the AWR_RF_INIT_CALIBRATION_CONF_SB

    3) Can you let us know what the exact status flag value after the calibration is over.

    4) When it fails is it possible to check the status of enable flags to ensure the calibrations were enabled.

The cause of the error is that the boot time calibration did not happen. We need to check now as to why it is being missed intermittently.

    Thanks,

    Pradipta.
