Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243
Hi, All!
I want to know can AWR2243BOOST achieve electronic scan. It means that the sensor doesn't move, we change the phase of the power supply to the antenna. I don't know if this can achieve.
Regards.

Dear Xǔ sēn -
Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E!
We have some beamforming examples included as a part of mmWave Studio package, but those are mostly for AWR2243 cascade solution. Here is an application note which discusses this: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra574b/swra574b.pdf
For single chip AWR2243, it is recommended to use the phase shifter configuration on AWR2243, through the use of the Advance chirp configuration. Described here on pages 29 and 30 https://dr-download.ti.com/software-development/firmware/MD-074SwD074J/02.02.03.01/mmwave_dfp_user_guide.pdf , using this firmware.
Dear Josh Wyatt
Thanks for you reply!
I already installed the mmwave_studio. I don't know if the mmwave_dft and mmwave_studio are compatible.
Dear Josh Wyatt
I have already read the mmwave_dfp_user_gudie. I want to know if I can achieve the electronic scan on the mmwave studio? Because the mmwave stduio is GUI that it's convenient to use.

Dear Xǔ sēn -
The mmWave Studio has an Advanced Chirp Configuration tab that you can use with the DFP User Guide instructions.
Dear Josh Wyatt
I want to know why the TX Phase Shifter and other parameters have four parameters that we need to configure.
For example, I circle it in the picture.
The reason of this is that the advChirpCfg is used in the cascade solution?

Xu sen
Hello Xu Sen,
Please review C://ti//mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14//mmWaveStudio//Scripts//Cascade folder for beamforming settings.
Review the cascade scripts provided in the mmwave studio release
Please also see the phase shifts introduced in the script of Cascade_Configuration_TXBF_Simple
Hope this helps,
