Hi,

Using the radar SDK, is it possible to transfer the raw data over USB3 instead of Ethernet. I am not sure if the USB port is activated/accessible from the C code?

Hello SJ,

The raw data over here you mean the ADC data, right?
Then the ADC data is generated at a much faster rate than what can be streamed over the USB.
You will have to keep this in consideration.

Hi Saswat,

Thank you for your quick reply. By raw data, I meant ADC but we can also transfer range, Doppler or Azimuth profiles.

Currently data is transferred over Ethernet, and I am hoping that higher speeds can be reached over USB3.
Your feedback on this matter is very appreciated.

Hello SJ,

As long as the streaming speed is faster than the speed you are generating the data in the ADC you can use any interface.

I am asking if there is a library, a working example, or any support to transfer data over USB (instead of Ethernet) from the DSP board to a laptop using the provided SDK?

Hello SJ,

No there is no working example or support for this currently.
You can refer to other radar devices like AWR1843 and go through its SDK 3.6 to see example on how to stream data over UART.

The SDK 3.6 is for a different DSP board, DCA1000EVM.

Is there a USB library file for the TIDEP-01017, which comes with a USB 3 port?

Hi,

The part number is the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM which is based on the TDA2SX and supports USB3.

The use cases for the TDA2XX in PROCESSOR-SDK-RADAR do not use USB3. Is there a use case in the PROCESSOR-SDK-VISION that handles USB data transfer that can be ported to the TDA2XX board?

Hi SJ,

We don't have example using USB in Vision SDK.

You can look for Linux documentation for how to use USB driver from Linux application.

Or, you will have to work with third party with Linux expertise to implement this feature.
