PGA970: minimum test to check PGA970EVM functionality via GUI

Part Number: PGA970
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

I need to ask for input regarding the most basic testing that I can do to determine if my PGA970EVM board is functional or not (with USB2ANY interface board).  Using the GUI, I am able to write data to the board, and I am able to read data back from the board.  This has been demonstrated by manipulating digital I/O signals GPIO1 and GPIO2, and verifying that the signals are behaving as expected using my o'scope, and also by reading those signals with the low-level config window in the GUI to confirm proper values.  I can also turn on and off the VREF signal (confirmed with o'scope).  I can also turn on / turn off VCM applied to S1 / S2 inputs.

Unfortunately, while the board seems to be working at some level, I am unable to get analog functionality working.  It seems like the most simple thing is to do an internal temperature reading -- but usually I just get a reading of 0.0V, while at times I have gotten random readings.  I also tried reading in a signal at VIN using ADC3, but same thing happened.  I also can not get anything from the waveform generator.  But, there are a lot of buttons involved, so possibly I'm doing something wrong.

Can you please give me a very simple sequence of steps that should result in getting a good temperature reading for a functional board?

Or, if there is another basic test that I can do, please let me know.

Thanks much.
