OPT3001: The issue of glass transmittance on the window of the shel

Part Number: OPT3001

The application scenario is to detect environmental changes and provide early warning (usually installed in a fixed dark area), which means that this product should be in closed dark conditions for a long time, and there may be environmental changes (such as turning on the lights, external lighting after opening the door, etc.). After the device is moved and the light changes, the high transmittance of the warning may directly see the circuit board inside the product, which is not very beautiful

What is the recommended glass transmittance for the window on the shell when using OPT3001? Please help confirm, thank you!

  • Hi Tony,

This will depend on your requirement for lux resolution. The resolution will be limited proportionally to the transmittance of the glass. For example, if a 10% transmission glass was used, the resolution of the device would be reduced from 10 mLux to 100 mLux.

    Thank you,

    Brent Elliott
