IWR6843AOP: Firmware download issues

Part Number: IWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi Ti experts,

IWR6843AR"Q"GALP (SIL-2 safety certified chip) was used and a PCB (sample) was produced.

When I tried to download the firmware, a problem like the image below occurred.

In case of downloading to CCS environment using JTAG

DSS downloads and runs fine, but
MSS, which is Cortex-R4, has the following problems.

When I download using Uni-flash program

Circuits like the IWR6843AR"B" GALP worked fine on PCBs before.

It seems that the download has changed as safety enters. Please check it.

(Power level (3.3v 1.2v 1.8v 1.0v) all checked, OSC checked)

How can I solve the problem of MSS not working and downloading?

Best Regards,

dave.

  • Hello,

To start I want to confirm that the "B" device variant is the functional safety SIL-2 device with the "Q" variant being the non-functional safety version. Can you confirm that this was just a typo on your end or were you actually struggling with "Q" variant units. In the mean time please give me a day or two to look into if there are any changes needed from a hardware perspective between the two device variants.

    Best Regards,

  • Dear Pedrhom Nafisi,

It was a mistake to confuse "Q" and "B".

IWR6843ARQ (Non-Safety Chip) has already completed prototype PCB production and parallel interface test completed.

Since we need to implement a SIL-2 system, we manufactured a PCB using IWR6843ARB (Safety Chip).

Therefore, please support IWR6843ARB (Safety Chip [SIL-2]).

We have confirmed that there is no problem with the power supply by manufacturing the PCB, and please respond to the issue of not being able to download through Uniflash or not being able to debug MSS.

Please check what you need to set when you download the first firmware for the IWR6843ARB(Safety Chip).

If it's okay, I'd like to receive direct technical support by e-mail.

    Best Regards,

    Dave.
