TMP6EVM: CE/EU Declaration of Conformity (aka EU DoC)

Part Number: TMP6EVM

Hi

We asked for the CE/EU Declaration of Conformity on this product back in April. Can you please advise status of this request?

On the last exchange, Jalen Tate89 advised that the EVM would be CE tested and the EU Declaration of Conformity (EU DoC) would be provided within the following weeks.

Until then, the product was not CE certified (as there is no CE marking on the EVM) and not suitable for the EU market until certification is complete

However, this was 3 months ago, and we have not heard back since.

Are you now in a position to provide the EU Declaration of Conformity, please?

Thank you very much

Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I'm just now seeing this post after the E2E downtime. Unfortunately, Jalen has left the team and I will need time to find out what was done in regards to the CE testing. I will reply with an update on Monday.

  • Hi Ren, ok i wait to hear back from you with an update in the course of today. Thank you in advance

  • Hi Chris,

Not all TI EVMs receive EMC/LVD/RED testing. Jalen was pursuing this type of testing on your behalf, and it was denied. At this time, TI does not deem EMC/LVD/RED testing and DoC necessary for TMP6EVM. However, new EVMs that don't receive this testing should still have a published RoHS DoC, which TMP6EVM does not have. We should be able to remedy that more easily. Can you confirm that you would be satisfied by a RoHS DoC?

    thanks,

    ren

  • Hi Ren

When a manufacturer applies CE to a product, The manufacturer is responsible to identify the CE directives (also known as the CE Union harmonisation legislation) applying to the product and to ensure the product meets the requirement of all these applicable CE directives. The manufacturer also has to draw the CE/EU Declaration of Conformity which must confirm compliance with and list all the CE directives applying to the product.

If T.I has identified ROHS 2011/65/EU as the only CE directive applying to TMP6EVM, then it is right that the only directive to be listed on the EU DoC will be ROHS.,

If other directives apply (such as but not limited to the LVD 2014/35/EU and/or the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU), then the manufacturer must ensure they have also evidence of compliance with these directives before they can start applying the  CE-mark to their product and the manufacturer must confirm compliance with these additional CE directives on the EU DoC.

For more information on this legal requirement, you may refer to the EU Blue Guide (Acces HERE) section "4.4. EU declaration of conformity"

To answer your question: "Can you confirm that you would be satisfied by a RoHS DoC?"

Yes, this will be correct if T.I has identified that the product is indeed only under the scope of the ROHS directive, and no other CE directives apply.

    Is this the case?

I will wait to hear back from you,

    Thank you

  • Hi Chris,

The CE DoC for TMP6EVM was completed today. It should appear on https://www.ti.com/tool/TMP6EVM tomorrow. I'm attaching the file here for your convenience. sszqrd4.pdf

  • Hello Ren, Thank you very much for your help and for providing the CE/EU DoC. This now resolves the query.
