Greetings All,

I am working on a project where I need to create a simulation mode by recording RAW radar data onto the sdcard and then later activate this simulation mode by reading this raw data from the sdcard instead from the real-time antenna.

So far I could only record raw data on my PC via ethernet connection only. Neither the SDCard saving nor the Playback features works and there is nearly no mention for them in any of Ti's Documentations.

If so, is there any other way to realize this Simulation Mode?

Hello Amr,

Unfortunately as you have pointed out the SD card method is not supported. Is there a reason you must playback data from SD card to "simulate" data coming in and not your computer? We only support playback

Okay, Is playback supported from the computer over ethernet? If so how can I achieve this is there any documentation or guides on this regard?

As I can see this proves that the playback feature is not implemented yet. Am I correct?

Is there any updates or changes in this feature since then?

Hello Amr,

I misunderstood what was needed when stating playback. You are always able to record data and use MATLAB scripts to "playback" the data as it came in, but straight from the device no you cannot and there has been no changes.

I don't I made it clear enough. By Playback I meant that I want to change the normal flow of data from the Front-end to the BSS core then to the DSS core then to the MSS to be DCA memory or already saved raw data on the PC over ethernet to the DSS core directly then to the MSS bypassing the BSS part as using previously saved data rather than Realtime data.

Is this feasible? or is there another approach to realize this?

Hi Amr,

This playback feature as described has been a a common request over the years. The short answer is that this is not supported by DCA1000. We support it on chip on GEN1 mmWave devices such as the 1843 that you have, but you would have to build your own HW to support it.
