AWR2944EVM: AWR2944EVM board ID in EEPROM

Part Number: AWR2944EVM

Hi TI:

For AWR2944EVM reference schematic, we can see there is an EEPROM (U26) which is used to store the board ID,

since there is another SPI flash (U1) in the schematic, can we store the board ID in the SPI flash (U1), then remove this EEPROM (U26)?

Thank you~

  • Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Texas Instruments. A team member will get back to you regarding this query.

  • Hello,

This is not recommended. If you want to program a board ID, this should only be done once so that the board ID and details remains static for the entire life of the board. If you try to store the board ID in QSPI flash, this information will get erased every time you reprogram the flash, so you would manually need to keep track of the board ID somewhere else and then reprogram the board ID every time you program the QSPI flash.

    Regards,
