TDC1000: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM GUI program does not work

I have TDC1000- TDC7200EVM from 2017. I tried to use it the other day but the gui software did not exist in the pdf anymore, so I contacted TI Customer Service and they sent me the download link. I downloaded the software and I could open it but when I try to connect the board my port just says USB serial device com3. Not tdc1000 something and I was not getting any value, and when I tried to update the firmware I had an error message:" Third part INF file does not contain digital signature" This was the first problem. I tried to download .net frame 2.0 as someone on the internet had something similar and solved it like this. This solution did not work and now I cannot open the program. When I open it I can see the app on task bar but it immediately closes. But I do not think the problem is about what I did because now I tried to download the GUI to another laptop and It did not open there as well so I am confused now. Is it possible that the gui is not compatible with new systems? Or I am open to any idea or suggestion you have. Thank you..

Was this the one that you were given by Customer Service that wasn't working?

Additionally, if you are planning on using this for a flow meter application, we would recommend that you use the MSP430FR6047 instead.

Hi, I guess its the same version but I tried it anyway and still same.. Yes I am thinking of flow meter application but fornow I am just trying to make some observations and I am guessing this model is enough for that(If I can use it..). Thanks for your advice, I will think about MSP430FR6047 in future applications as well.

Hi Aykut,

Just to be sure, did following the steps in the image below make a difference? If not, could you share an image of what the COM port looks like in your device manager?

Hi, yes I followed the step but it did not make any difference. Also I guess the main problem for now is that I cannot run the program. As I said It just opens and close immediately

Hi Aykut,

What operating system are you running the GUI on?

Can you try uninstalling the GUI and reinstalling it to see if you are able to open it?

I am using Win11 operating system. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall it multiple times.

Hi Aykut,

I was able to download and open the GUI on my laptop, though I have a Windows 10 operating system. Are both the laptops you tried running it on Windows 11? Or is there a Windows 10 that you can try?

Additionally, to verify if the issue is with the operating system or the GUI, could you try downloading and running the TDC1000-C2000EVM GUI as it similar to the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM GUI?
