I need to understand the capabilities of AWR1643 BOOST module. All i need is the step by step procedure of how to flash the example code of short range radar in the board and how to view the output in MATLAB

Hi Nithin,

Can you please mention which SW package are you using? Is it a TI resource explorer example application or the mmwave SDK OOB demo? In either case, the general steps to flash can be found in the mmwave sdk userguide and instructions on running the demo would be provided in the respective application's documentation. Kindly request you go through the same.

can i debug the program directly into the AWR1642. After debugging how to view the output. Can you create a video?

Hi Nithin,

You can debug your software that is running on the AWR1642 device.
You can debug and view all information on Code Composer Studio. For device outputs, it can be seen on the visualizer.
A video is planned to be released sometime in the future. Please check the Radar Academy (ti.com) for any updates going forward.

is AWR1642BOOST-ODS better than AWR1642BOOST for RADAR functionality

Hi Nithin,

AWR1642 ODS (Obstacle Detection Sensor) comes with different antenna pattern to cover the elevation as well.

This EVM is mainly to cover the obstacle detection case, like safety to side door opening, trunk opening etc.

Device soldered on both EVMs are same AWR1642.
