TMP422: Is single-ended usage supported?

Part Number: TMP422

Hey Temp Sensor team,

I have a customer evaluating the TMP422 for a design and we have a question regarding dual-ended versus single-ended temp monitoring.

In the datasheet, most typical applications shown are as depicted below where two DX lines are used for proper operation:

In cases where a device has a "TEMP" monitoring pin with an integrated onboard temperature diode, how would you properly connect the circuit when you only have access to a single-ended portion of the diode configuration as depicted below?

Would it be OK in this case to connect DX1 to the single-ended TEMP pin and DX2 to the shared ground with the appropriate Rs values? Are there any issues with this implementation?

Best regards,

Matt Calvo
