AWR2944: Power Consumption

Part Number: AWR2944

Hi guys,

I need urgently the power estimation for AWR2943 in a "sleep mode" where the CAN communication is ongoing. Please provide the numbers per each rail.

AWR2943 (measurement mode, RF ON)

3.3V (??A)

1.8V (??A)

1.2V (??A)

1.0V (??A)

AWR2943 (standby mode, RF OFF, CAN ON)

3.3V (??A)

1.8V (??A)

1.2V (??A)

1.0V (??A)

Thanks for this in advance

Jens

  • Hi Jens,

The sheet we shared talks about these points also.

So in the table above for the RF ON you can refer Average power for all the rails, however for standby mode(RF OFF) you can consider the Inter Frame Power column and calculate.

Please note the 3.3V IO is very much dependent on the interfaces you put on IO supply. Hence the above figures are indicative and would change on customer system and interfaces.

  • Hello Abhed,

I used the excel provided by you for the calculations. Below are my results:

    RF-ON Mode (25ms inside 40ms frame time) :

    1.2V 0,809W

    1.8V 0,663W

    1.0V 0,619W

    3.3V 0,010W

    Total:2,1W

RF-Off Mode (Processing mode)(15ms inside 40ms frame time):

    1.2V 0,767W

    1.8V 0,088W

    1.0V 0,001W

    3.3V 0,010W

    Total:0,866W

    Standby Mode:

    1.2V 0,658W

    1.8V 0,088W

    1.0V 0,001W

    3.3V 0,010W

    Total:0,757W

I assume the above calculations are more close to reality.

    Syed
