What is the value of the idle current during sensor failure?

    Bhagyashree,

    This is difficult to quantify.  In the case that electrical over stress occurs inside the device, the electrical damage can result in an open-circuit or a short.  In the event of an open circuit, it is likely little to no current will be observed.

    In the event of a short, there will be an increase in current draw but the magnitude of this current will depend on the effective impedance from Vcc to GND through the damaged area of the device.  This may vary depending on the damage.  This would be the case for any device which has been electrically over-stressed.
