OPT4001-Q1: Device ID's function

Dear experts,

Customers want to be compatible with OPT3002-Q1, OPT3001-Q1 and OPT4001-Q1 on the same board, distinguish them by the unique ID of the device, and use the corresponding I2C address for access. So the question is whether there is a certain rule in the device ID of these three products, so that the MCU can distinguish these three types of devices? Or is there another way to do this? Hi Rogers,

OPT4001-Q1 and OPT3001-Q1 have Device ID registers that can be read to determine which part is on the board.

There is no register to tell the difference between OPT3001 and OPT3002. By the way, there is no OPT3002-Q1 version.

Thanks for your reply. So you mean that the device ID of every OPT3001 is the same, but it is different from OPT4001, so we can distinguish OPT3001 and OPT4001 by device ID? Thanks!

The registers are different. Register 0x7Fh will provide device ID for OPT3001-Q1. Register 0x11h can be used for device ID of OPT4001-Q1.
