IWR6843ISK: Vital Signs Lab

Hi,

I was trying to get the Vital Signs lab to work with the IWR6843ISK device. However, when I ran the example GUI, it doesn't work. I get the GUI up but it doesn't record anything.

This is what I get when I run the GUI:

I've also run it with Auto-Detect COM Ports, the xwr68xx_profile_VitalSigns_20fps_Back and xwr68xx_profile_VitalSigns_20fps_Front files, changed around the COM ports between 3 and 4, and so on and so forth. Nothing seems to be doing the trick - it doesn't seem to want to record anything

I will point out however that I'm not using the Industrial mmWave Carrier Board. Should that be a problem? I saw that it says it's needed but I don't see a reason it should make a difference really..

Would appreciate help with this issue.

    I forgot to mention - I did get the Out of Box and Area Scanner to work, but not the Vital Signs

    Hi Tamir,

    The demo you are referring is no longer supported. Please use the vital signs demo in Radar Toolbox

    You can get the demo at the following location

    radar_toolbox_1_20_00_11\radar_toolbox_1_20_00_11\source\ti\examples\Medical\Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking

    You need to use the visualizer at the below link

    radar_toolbox_1_20_00_11\radar_toolbox_1_20_00_11\tools\visualizers\Industrial_Visualizer

    Select the device as IWR6843 and demo as Vital signs with people tracking

    Hi Abhishek,

    Thanks for your response. I am aware that the old vital signs isn't supported anymore. However, the new vital signs with people tracking isn't what I'm after. I only want to see that it can track vital signs statically and in the Radar toolbox Medical Lab page it says that fixed distance vital signs reading isn't available yet. I need to see that I can read vital signs at a fixed distance before we can proceed with our device development. 

    I will make my question more concise - do we need the mmWaveICBoost carrier board in order to run the original Industrial toolbox vital signs lab? or should we be able to do it with just the IWR6843ISK?

    I appreciate the Industrial Toolbox isn't supported anymore and therefore I don't expect any help with running the lab, all I need to know is whether the carrier board is needed or not.

    Hi Tamir,

    Only IWR6843ISK EVM is sufficient to run the vital signs lab. You need to flash the EVM with the vital signs binary. 

    Once you switch to the functional mode, you can use the visualizer and send the .cfg file

    MMWAVEICBOOST is required only when you want to debug with CCS. For running the demo, EVM is sufficient
