IWRL6432BOOST: ERROR No data detected on com port, read timed out message

Part Number: IWRL6432BOOST

I am trying to get an out-of-the-box demo working for the IWRL6432BOOST.

I don't get data on the comport in either the web GUI or in the python version.

I have the motion_and_presence_detection_demo.release.appimage uniflashed on the device and do get a response on the UART line.

I have no other programs running that are using a comport. 

I have also tried the out of the box 6843 binfile but this doesn't seem to chance anything. 
Does anyone have an idea of what is going wrong here?

In my case is port 3 the uart.

Port 4 is the data port but i can't select this one for data in the GUI. The web version just doesn't connect.
