AWR6843AOPEVM: wall-mount vs ceil-mount

Part Number: AWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR6843AOP

Hello,

In 3D people tracking demo guide mentioned that there are two separate signal processing chains, one optimized for wall-mount, and the other for ceil-mount applications. If both installation options are viable, I'm curious to know if any of these options has superiority over the other one in terms of performance, accuracy, range of detection and so on particularly in applications like height measurement and fall detection?

I use AWR6843AOP .

  • Hi,

Please read into the demo guide there is further explanation in there as well as full diagrams of the signal processing chain for both.

As an example, the guide mentions that the ceil-mount chain has finer azimuth estimation.

Performance for height/fall detection I would expect to be similar across the demos. Wall-mounted may perform better in some cases as looking from the side and seeing a whole body may provide more points vs. looking down and just a set of head and shoulders, but the added azimuth granularity in the ceil-mount chain may help account for this.

    Regards,

    Tim
