FDC2112: We are facing some software issues and hardware problem

Part Number: FDC2112
We are the leading tier 1 automotive manufacturers in India.
We are developing a Capacitive type fuel level sensor for Commercial vehicle application.
We are using FDC 2112 part no, initially we have done the POC for test and verification
On that we are facing the below issue:
1. FDC 2112 to Controller data not receiving
2. The output of data from FDC 2112 is 0 level
3. We are testing open conditions, Is it should be with Fluid level only?
We need the completed working software code for testing

Please find attached the schematic  . please suggest any changes required
We need a separate meeting with you for detailed technical discussion
    Please support
  • Hi Rajesh,

I don't see a schematic attached.  Can you please re attach?

It sounds like your controller is not establishing I2C communication.  Can you also provide some captures of the failed communication?

  • Rajesh,

The schematic looks okay.  Can you provide some further troubleshooting data?  Can you establish successful I2C communication, but the output is always zero?  Can you probe the sensor connections at J1?  Do you see the sensor output?

Even with no fluid, you should still see some output higher than zero, which leads me to believe you may not have a signal at J1.

  • Hi Sandhyarani,

Please see the thread above.  We will need some more information to debug.  In addition to the scope shots I requested above, can you provide the details of your capacitive sensor?  I would like to ensure that the LC tank frequency falls within the specification shown below.

  • Hello sir,

From IN0A and IN0B pulse is not generated and from SD 2.5v is generating

  • If your SD pin is at 2.5V, the device is in shutdown.  You need to drive this signal low from the connected microcontroller.
