OPT3001: The difference between OPT3001 and OPT3004

Part Number: OPT3001
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPT3004, OPT3005

Hi TI Team,

What is the difference between OPT3001 and OPT3004? Is there any main performance comparison table that you can share with us?

From the product detail page we can learned that the OPT3004 have a improved IR rejection over a wider field of view. But are there any special application scenarios for this feature? Or what customers would particularly need this feature?

Thanks,

Kind Regards

  • Hi Lumina,

OPT3004 provides an increased IR rejection than OPT3001. Furthermore, OPT3005 has the best IR rejection of the family.

In applications such as video surveillance cameras, where there is an IR LED used to illuminate the area when it is dark, the IR rejection will let the system know the ambient lighting environment without having the IR LEDs affect the measurement.
