Is there any recommendation for the material of the cover on the sensor of FDC1004?

Does regular plastic on top of the sensor affect the detection range or precision?

Kei,

The material next to the sensor can make a difference in the capacitance measurements.
Conductive coverings generally will not work.
Many plastics are okay, but you must consider the thickness and the relative permittivity of the material.
