OPT4001EVM: How do I use it with a microcontroller?

Hello, I bought the OPT4001EVM for a project and am trying to connect it with a microcontroller and have that provide power as well.

However, it seems that approach does not work with the motherboard that comes with the part. With that in mind, I detached the coupon board in order to use that and set it up with an Arduino Nano. The problem now is that I am just getting 0 for my Lux values. Any ideas? I have VDD, SDA, SCL and GND connected, with the ADDR pin set to GND. Additionally, I made sure I had pull up resistors for the I2C bus (10k ohms).

Hi Miguel,

Have you checked your i2c waveform to make sure that you are getting ACK from the device?

Hi Brent, thank you for your reply. I did check the waveform and it seems I get an ACK for the first byte but not the second. I'm using code I found for the OPT3001 which I assumed is the same. I used code from this repo: github.com/.../master

I assume that is not going to work. Could you direct me to some simple example code on how to interface with this sensor using an Arduino?

For Arduino, i've used the Wire.h library and communicating with the device that way was pretty simple.
