HDC3022: How to do offset and shutdown is required or not?

Part Number: HDC3022

Hi,

According to datasheet, it is mentioned it should put HDC302x into shutdown mode.

Based on flow chart in HDC302x silicon user guide, there is no shutdown mode in the flow.

Thus, please help to clarify how to set offset and provide correct procedure, thanks!

Best regards,

Tiger

  • Hello Tiger,

Thank you for illuminating this inconsistency. The reason there is no shutdown mode in the flowchart in the silicon user's guide is likely because the HDC302x power up default state is shutdown mode. So it was likely an oversight to assume the user is in shutdown already. The datasheet does not make that assumption since a user could have programmed the device to be in auto measurement mode before they want to run offset correction.

  • Thanks Alex.

May I know how to go into shutdown mode?

It looks no any explain in the datasheet.

    Thanks and Best regards,

    Tiger

  • Hi Tiger,

The device defaults into shutdown mode at power up. So unless you placed the sensor into auto measurement mode, you are in shutdown mode. If you are unsure, you can power cycle the device to make sure it's in shutdown mode.
