AWR2944: MCU Mcal related question

Hello all,

I am using AWR2944 Sensor and I am configuring the Peripheral clocks using the MCAL Package that is provided with SDK "mcu_plus_sdk_awr294x_08_04_00_22".

However, when I am configuring the clocks using MCU there are no configurations for the DSS or the RSS Cores. The only available configurations are for MSS Peripherals.

So my question is how do I configure the clocks for those cores ?

Dear Josh,

I am aware that there is a Device clock architecture in the Technical reference. However, I am not asking about that, what I am asking is that in the MCAL package provided with this SDK, the MCU package as no DSS or RSS peripherals to be configured from EB. So how do I configure the clocks for the DSS and RSS cores ?

Dear Marwan -

I think by definition, MCAL is for abstracting the peripherals of an MCU (in this case the R5F) to a common software layer (in this case into Autosar architecture) and the clocks of the DSP and R4F are not considered to be peripherals (of their respective devices) to begin with, so MCAL is not applicable to them.

I believe the APIs for configuring these are in the SDK, please check:

C:/ti/mcu_plus_sdk_awr294x_08_06_00_19/docs/api_guide_awr294x/group__DRV__SOC__MODULE.html, where you have installed the SDK in the default location on your hard drive.

Dear Josh,

So basically I will not be able to configure the DSP and R4F clocks or their respective peripherals using the MCU driver provided in the MCAL package and I have to use the SDK Apis to configure them ?

Dear Marwan -

Yes, first, the R4F (an MCU) is not programmable by customer. Second, the DSP is a DSP, not an MCU.

It is recommended to use SysConfig tool.
