AWR1843BOOST: Radar beam steering angle and its sweep

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST

Hi,

In AWR1843BOOST radar while scanning the objects can we control beam steering angle and its sweep, also can we control the on/off of beam steering mode through firmware/mmWave visualizer/MRR visualizer?

Thanks,
Manoj

  • Please see the beam steering demo doc in the radar toolbox, "Beam Steering"

    source\ti\examples\ADAS\mrr_beamsteering\docs\MRR_Beamsteering_users_guide.html

As shown in the documentation, in this demo

    • the sweeping angle [Min, MAX] can be configured
    • the step size can be configured.

The beam steering is controlled through firmware APIs on a Frame basis. So it can be turned on/off through firmware APIs by programming the phase shifter applied to the TX.

    Thank you

    Cesar
