LPSTK-CC1352R: LPSTK-CC1352R should power ON and OFF how can I achieve that

Hello TI team,

I have a sensor tag, LPSTK-CC1352R and I am connecting it to a collector CC1352R which is displaying its sensor values. I only want to display the sensor value and then I want to Power OFF and ON the LPSTK-CC1352R again and again. Like LPSTK-CC1352R gets power ON, gets connected and then power cuts off and sensortag Power OFFs. How can I do it without actually toggling it power switch ON and OFF.

I had a plan to power the LPSTK-CC1352R using a GPIO ouput pin from MSP430FR5969, like a switch. What are your suggestions on this.

Help me how can I power On and Off the LPSTK-CC1352R without actually turning ON and OFF the switch.

Hi Pukhraj,

Please can you explain your design a little bit more? Do you have a an MSP in your final product?

I assume you still want the sensor to be a part of the collector's network and want it to transmit to the collector every 30 seconds, like you mention in this thread.

Hello Sid,

Yes, you are right I still need to transmit the data but the only change that I want is that now I want the LPSTK-1352R to power ON and OFF instead of standby. But, I want it to be automatic like the MSP430FR5969 should power On and Off the LPSTK-1352R after every 3 minutes.

Can I achieve this using an MSP or you have any other idea to switch ON and OFF the LPSTK without toglling its switch(should be automatic).

Hi Pukhraj,

To achieve exactly this, you have the gpioshutdown example in the SDK.

You would have to configure a pin as a wake up pin and then Power_Shutdown() the device. Then the MSP can write to this GPIO. This would boot the device up again. This is exactly what the example does.

Please note that if you power down the LPSTK and power it back up, it will then have to re-associate with the collector network and then transmit the data. This will be additional current for TX and RX on every wake up. This is something you cannot avoid.
