AWR6843: Measuring pwr consumption using mmWave Studio

Part Number: AWR6843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST,

Team,

My customer would like to know the power consumption of AWR6843 (PMIC SW_B0 to SW_B4 on MMWAVEICBOOST) in active using mmWave Studio.
Could you please let me know :
- How to measure this using mmWave studio?
- What command should it be issued?

Thank you for your support.
Regards,
Nonaka

  • Hey Nonaka-san,

Please give us some more time to look into this. We will try to respond within the next one to two days.

    Thank you for your patience,

    Kristien

  • Hey Nonaka-san,

Unfortunately, there is no way to measure the power consumption of specifically the PMIC through mmWave Studio during a chirp, but you can use the ContStream tab to measure Tx output power, reflection coefficient, incident voltage, and reflected voltage for a continuous wave output. If you are looking at getting the PMIC power, you would have to directly probe the lines from the PMIC. It might be best to reach out to us over email instead, so we can further discuss what your customer is looking for, and we can get you in touch with someone on the platform test team.

    Regards,

    Kristien
