IWR1843: About Float-point AOA Estimation

Hello,

I'm studying IWR1843 and I would like to know AOA Estimation.

I have found the explanation about "Float-point AOA Estimation" in mmWave doxygen.

It is described "The AOA Beamformaing Estimation based on floating point input data" on it.

Is AOA Beamformaing Estimation used DBF?

If no, please let me know how to estimate angle like algorithm, formula.

Please advise.

Hi Shoko,

What is DBF? We have algorithms that do beamforming with FFT and MVDR. The doxygen describes the FFT method.

Thank you for quick reply. DBF is Digital Beam Forming.

Does IWR1843's demos use AOA estimation using FFT or MVDR?

Either option is available. The default option in the out-of-box code is FFT. For MVDR, see the small-obstacle detection example.
