Hi IWR6843 Champ !

A customer will launch a product to prevent lonely deaths for the elderly living alone with a Japanese company.

So they are preparing for Japan TELEC (JAPAN MOC) certification with 60GHz 6843ISK product

The carrier sensing function (carrier sensing function) is required in the 60 GHz band during authentication preparation.

When I checked the carrier sensing function, it means that our device's frequency stops as soon as other frequencies are detected.

So they need to implement the ability to detect other frequencies other than 60GHz, can you guide me? Which part should I start with?

I have a question on ARIB on Japan section.

Can you please tell me how to recognize other radar devices are nearby before turning off my radar device ?

I think my client is confused about that phrase.
They understood that the necessary measures should be taken by analyzing the radar signal frequency returned to other nearby radar devices.

"No carrier sense required, Must be able to turn off the radar if other radar devices are nearby"

Hi Jack,

ARIB-STD-T73 says the following :

The radar should be able to do fulfill this requirement with option #2, and the time-domain multiplexing should ensure that #3 is also possible too (transmissions from other radars will not occur exactly simultaneously every time, which means that even if two devices transmit at once, the interfering device should produce an IF tone outside of the bandwidth of the expected IF signal.

This should also be possible based off the time-domain multiplexing as mentioned above from T-73.

Hi Nate

The customer checked with the client again and was informed by the Japanese telec certification authority that frequencies exceeding 60 to 61 GHz should have a carrier sensing function.

So they know that the frequency adjustment is possible in the radar firmware, so they are studying related things.

If carrier sense function should be supported for thier client, please advise how to implement it.
