Hi Experts

1. In mmWave Studio, if we set"Tx MIMO Pattern set "as "Disabled", then We can use PER_CHIRP_CFG TX_BPM_EN for customized BPM?

Is my understanding correct?

2. if PER_CHIRP_CFG TX_BPM_EN feather is enabled,

When Tx0 BPM is disabled for current chirp, the phase of current chirp in Tx0 is the same as last chirp,

when Tx0 BPM is enabled for current chirp, the phase of current chirp in Tx0 is reversed to last chirp.

Is my understanding correct?

What kind of BPM you want to program? How different it will be compare to standard BPM mode?

Standard BPM TX1 phase is 1 -1 1 -1, customer would like to do 1 1 -1 -1.

I assume we can achieve this by enabling PER_CHIRP_CFG TX_BPM_EN feature,

Can you pls help with my 2 confusions above?

I am not aware that we support PER_CHIRP_CFG and TX_BPM_EN for low power devices. Where did you find this information?

Hi Ken,

Your understanding about the per chirp usage is correct. You can use per chirp BPM configuration with array length = 2 and repetition count = 2 to achieve desired usecase.

The second point is also almost correct. The phase reversal is not relative to the previous chirp. Whenever you set the BPM bit high, front end enables 180 degree phase shifter. If you enable this bit consecutively for two chirps, they will have same phase, but 180 shifted with respect to the chirp which sets the bit to low.
