TMP117: Resolution testing

Hello,

I am planning to use TMP117 in one of our application. In the datasheet of TMP117 I saw the resolution of  0.0078°C(1LSB).

I have few questions on the resolution.

1. How do TI tested the resolution of 0.0078°C, is there any test conducted to support this data? For example, Did you Place in TMP117 in temperature controlled chamber and increased temperature from 25°C to 25.008°C and observed 1LSB change

2. How to test the temperature sensor to verity and validation the resolution?

    Hi Muni,

    The resolution of the TMP117 is defined by the internal ADC as seen below:

    We do temperature controlled tests for accuracy--as this is defined as a ±0.3 °C device over the full range. However, resolution is defined by the digital code output.
