AWR2944: 2MHz spur occurs in FFT spectrum of ADC data

Part Number: AWR2944

Hi All

For AWR2944 of our own radar board, we found many spurs in FFT spectrum of ADC data. The wave config is single tone waveform. The EVM does not has the spurs.

Below are the ADC data and FFT spectrum of ADC data, of our own radar and EVM.

The spurs of our radar board are at 2MHZ, 4MHZ, 7MHZ;

We can take the below link for reference:

Do you have any advice? thx

  • Hello,

    What is the switching frequency of your PMIC and pre-regulator? Most likely there is some switching noise coupling through the power supplies.

    To debug, I would recommend to first feed the 1.0V and 1.8V through an external power supply and see if the spurs resolve. If so this will confirm it is a power supply issue which will help give some direction to debug.

    Regards,

    Adrian

  • Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out. In order for us to help you better, please provide the following:

    • Your schematics
    • Your test environment relating to these plots
    • Are you chirping with non-zero or zero slope? Would it be possible to share your chirp configuration/mechanism?
    • How are you measuring the spurs?
