Hello,

I want to know if AWR1843AOP radar is a good choice for ADAS applications such as Side radar and corner radar. if so what is the lab (firmware) that I can use for that purpose?

The answer depends on the requirements you have for your application.

What range and velocity requirements do you have? Is elevation information needed? What is the angular resolution required?

The maximum range is 10 meters and the maximum speed is around 30 KM/h. The radar will be mounted in a truck. The main objective is to detect a nearby objects. I think a high resolution in elevation is a good indicator of object size. At this point I'm not sure if elevation is necessary. If we want to classify objects, isn't an elevation resolution of 60 degrees enough?

If the application max range is 10m, than AWR1843AOP is a good platform

Regarding classification, you would need to capture raw ADC data and analyze it with your algorithms.

What firmware can I use for this application with the AWR1843AOP? as far as I know only automated parking lab and obstacle detection lab works on the AWR1843AOP.

We recommend using the mmwave sdk 3.6 LTS out of box demo
