AWR1843BOOST: how to design gui based TI's GUI

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

hi,

I want to detect objects using my awr1843boost, and to design matlab GUI to read and fetch raw data from the data memory on  AWR1843boost.

I found the gui in radar toolbox 1.30.0.5:

I couldn't open the gui? if it is proper for me?

my question is:

I want to use  proper TI's GUI, how could I do?

could you give me more details?

Regards,

Wembanyama

  • Hi Wembanyama,

What is the exact issue you're facing?

If it is closing as soon as you try to open the area_scanner_visualizer.exe, then please download MATLAB Runtime version 9.6(MATLAB Runtime v9.6 Download) and add the "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\MATLAB Runtime\v96\runtime\win64" path to your environment variables. The gui should starts with a console and afterwards you will this kind of interface -

If you are facing some other issue, kindly let me know.

  • hi,

    the file readme.txt figure out:

that version 9.6 (R2019a) of the MATLAB Runtime is needed !

    and I finished it:

please download MATLAB Runtime version 9.6

now, I successly opened  the setup as you said:

how could I use this GUI forther? for example check the CLI information or radar data etc.?

frankly, back to beginning, I don't know which GUI is proper for my task on detecting objects range, velocity and azimuth.

I want to use  proper TI's GUI

    another question is:

which demo's pre-built bin file I need to flash to my awr1843boost before I use the GUI you may recommend to me?

give me some help, thank you.

    Reagards,

    Wembanyama

  • Hey,

This visualizer is specific to the area scanner application which is supported by xwr68xx device only. AWR1843 does not support area scanner feature.

For awr1843 device, you can refer to the examples that has a prebuilt_binaries for 18xx devices like - ADAS/automated_parking, medium_range_radar, Automotive_Body_Sensors/obstacle_detection_aop, Out_Of_Box_Demo, etc.

For each application you will find the corresponding visualizer in the toolbox/tools/visualizer folder. Refer to its user_guide in the doc folder to get the basic idea and how to use the tools.

If it resolves your issue, you can accept the answer by clicking "This Resolved My Issue". Tomorrow is a holiday in India, so if you have any other queries we can pick up on Monday(next week).
