We want to build an application where we can detect both stationary and moving humans.

Any recommended devices from the portfolio?

Also, the example SDK for our use case, where we can write our own custom firmware in C for that radar sensor.

What kind of range are you looking for while selecting this radar?
When you say custom firmware, you mean your own processing chain right?

Application : to develop a radar-based occupancy detection system(static/moving humans) that can manage the HVAC system and lights

Hi,

Yes that would be acceptable. You may also like the IWRL6432 depending on the power/accuracy/cost requirements. The IWRL6432 is a lower cost, lower power sensor that will be able to count fewer people, but if the purpose is only to detect presence or not, it would be an ideal product.
