HDC3022: Difference between HDC3022 and HDC3021

Part Number: HDC3022
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC2021, HDC3021, , HDC2022

Dear Specislists,

My customer is considering HDC2021, HDC2022, HDC3021 and HDC3022.

They have questions.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---Questions

My understanding of HDC2021, HDC2022, HDC3021 and HDC3022 is as follows.
Could you please confirm whether this understanding is correct.

① HDC2021 and HDC3021 have a cover tape to prevent objects from entering the sensor section, and this must be removed after assembling.
② HDC2022 and HDC3022 are equipped with a IP67 protection cover from dust, water and PCB wash during operation.

When using '①', removing the cover tape at the end of manufacturing can prevent foreign matter from adhering to the sensor part. If foreign matter gets into sensor at the market , accurate measurements may not be possible.

When using ②,  foreign objects will not enter the sensor during operation in the market.
On the other hand, care must be taken to prevent coating agents from adhering to the protective film during the manufacturing process.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hello Shinichi,

Thanks for your question. Your understanding of our humidity sensors is correct. I would also suggest for assembly, to use a no-clean flux and avoid cleaning around the humidity sensor. If it is absolutely necessary to do a wash, I would suggest using deionized water and practice caution around the HDC sensors as there's a chance water can get under the pins and cause a short.
