AWR1843AOP: Radome Design - discrepancy in dome radius calculation

Part Number: AWR1843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843

Hello,

We used the mmWave Radar Radome Design Guide to make the following dome radius calculations, can you help us validate the same?

Wave Frequency (f): 76.5 Ghz (We are using the 76-77 GHz band)

Speed of Light (C): 299792458 m/sec

Wavelength (λ): 3.99 mm

n= 1,2,3…

Calculated Values: optimum_thickness = 0.00270 m  2.7 mm for n =2

                                  Radius of Dome = 21.945mm, 27.93mm, 33.915mm  for n = 11,14,17 (Values Selected by us)

To verify, we repeated the same process with the values provided by TI  in the design guide;

Wave Frequency (f): 62 Ghz (IWR6843 uses the 60-64 GHz band)

Speed of Light (C): 299792458 m/sec

Wavelength (λ): 4.83536 mm

Radome values  used:

18.24 mm - n = 7.54,

31.2 mm - n = 12.90,

37.44 mm - n = 15.46

Since the values of n come out to be non-integral, I had the following questions;

Q1.) Have you considered the speed of light in air or vacuum?

Q2.) Were any additional considerations made for the calculations or it is a rounding-off error? (Like losses)
