LDC1312: Proximity detection

Hi,

If my customer want to use proximity sensor to detect end user hold the personal equipment. Could LDC1312 be used in this kind of application?

If yes, could LDC1312 work with Qualcomm SEE driver?

Inductive sensing technology is typically used to detect the presence or deflection of metal objects. Inductive sensing can be used as grip detection, but a squeeze or press is required to deflect the metal target.

Capacitive sensing is more suitable to detect the presence/proximity of humans. Please have a look at the FDC1004. This FDC1004 Capacitive Sensing FAQ and app note on Capacitive Proximity Sensing Using the FDC1004 may also be beneficial:

I am not familiar with the Qualcomm SEE driver, can you provide more information?

The FDC1004 features an I2C interface for interfacing to an MCU/MPU.
