I am part of a senior design group using the above mentioned radar in combination with a DCA1000EVM board to collect data on wildlife. We understand the relationship between adc sampling rate and frequency slope in terms of getting a maximum detectable range, however when trying to detect elephants in an enclosure, we struggle to get anything past 25m, no matter how high we set our detectable range. Can altering chirp timing parameters affect the capability of detection? Are there any other parameters we can alter to help increase our actual detection range? We don’t need a very high range resolution as there are only a few in the exhibit. FYI we are using mmWave studio to alter the parameters and do our immediate post-proc just to ensure if we are getting a detection.
