Hi,
I wanted to check whether the bootloader flow, or any additional information on the IWRL6432 bootloader has been released yet. This post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors-group/sensors/f/sensors-forum/1216819/iwrl6432boost-iwrl6432-bootloader-flow from 10 months ago states that the bootloader flow is not yet released. Has this changed? If not is the IWR6843 Bootloader Flow representative of the IWRL6432?
Thanks
Hello.
This document is not available yet. However, there is some information on the bootloader flow on a high-level in the TRM for the IWRL6432, which I have linked here.
Sincerely,
Santosh
Hi Santosh,
After having read the documentation I just want to confirm a few things:
Hi,
- It very much seems as if the RBL comes pre-loaded onto the chip and cannot be changed/updated, is this correct? If we wanted to create a custom RBL at some point in the future, would there be anyway to update the current RBL to the custom version as things currently stand?
The RBL is not modifiable. If you want a custom bootloader, I would recommend the SBL (Secondary Bootloader).
Santosh will respond shortly to your other questions.
Best,
Nate
Hi Nate,
I just want to check whether by Secondary bootloader do you mean the secondary boot mode detailed in the TRM that Santosh mentioned, or is this something else entirely? If so is there anywhere that references it?
Hello.
If so is there anywhere that references it?
You can find information on the secondary bootloader in the SDK under <mmwave-l-sdk-install-path>/examples/drivers/boot/sbl. This is an application that gets flashed onto the device that will allow you to either send a binary via UART or pull from a partition in memory that stores the factory default image(can be customized). The readme for this example explains how to get started with running this program.
Sincerely,
Santosh
