IWR6843AOPEVM: Scratches on the antenna - influence on measurements?

Hello,

when I recently received an IWR6843AOPEVM, I noticed a slight scratch on the whole antenna (also over T3, see picture).

I wanted to record vital signs with the radar module. Can this have a major impact or can I somehow ensure correct function by testing?
The scratch is not deep, so is only a protective layer damaged?

Patrick,

If the scratch depth is less than 20 µm, there should be no performance impact.

However, since you received the EVM scratched, I'd advise getting the unit replaced. Please visit https://support.ti.com/csm and file a support ticket or call one of the listed phone numbers to begin the RMA process.

I apologize that you received a damaged EVM, and hopefully we can get this fixed soon.
