Hi AWR1843AOP Champ !

A customer would like to change pin assignmnent of CAN FD TX and RX from T3, U8 to A4/B3, B4/C3 for JTAG pin assignment,

Can you please check if any problem is expected since they heard there were some communication problem from those pins according to their experiments ?

Can you please ask the customer to check if they are able to use other pins that are available? In the meantime, I will check if the pins that you mentioned are functional or not.

Can you please check the failed ports as well as Not checked ports?

CAN-FD Port : Comm funtioanltiy Failure

- TX : B4, U16

- RX : A4, V16

CAN-FD Port : Comm functionality OK

- TX : D1, D3

- RX : E2, F2

CAN-FD Port : Comm functionality Not Identified

- TX : C3, J3, T3

- RX : B3, K2, U8

Hi Jack,

Can you please confirm whether the customer is using AWR1843AOP EVM or custom board? In AWR1843AOP EVM, pins D1 and F2 were brought to CAN. If they are using custom board, they need to make sure that the corresponding pin shouldn't be used by another peripheral.

They are using custom board. So the pins except D1/F2 are available for CAN FD function on custom board? Customer said that A4/B4 and V16/U16 are not available for CAN FD function. Is it correct? Please check it and let me know.

In looking at sysconfig for the AWR6843AOP, it appears the instance of CANFD1 follows same pinout as the AWR1843AOP. So you should be able to use that as a guide for setting up the device for usage. You probably have to change the headers in the .h and .c files, to reference 18xxAOP, to use.
