AWR1843BOOST: How to set up waveform by DFEDataOutputMode(frame, continuous, advanced frame)?

Hi,

I'm developing it by referring to the MRR demo project.

DFEDataOutput Mode can be set to frame, continuous, and advanced frame mode.

Can you tell me how to set up waveform by mode and each meaning?

Also there are various settings in mmwave.h, where can I find the meaning and how to set each?

(I'm using the CCS v12.1 and radar toolbox 1.10.00.13, mmwave_sdk_03_06_00_00-LTS.)

Hi,

What is difference between frame mode and advanced frame mode?

Can I use 2 type of chirp in the burst when i set frame mode?

Hi John,

In advanced frame mode, user can configure multiple type of frames compared to legacy frame configuration where only one type of frame is allowed. Advanced frame configuration allows up to four sub-frames, with multiple bursts (upto 512) in each sub-frame. Each burst can consist of 512 unique chirps which are associated to one of the 4 profiles. In advanced frame mode, one burst is equivalent to one legacy frame configuration.

Hi Samhitha,

The information you provided helped me a lot. I have one more question for clarity.

As shown in the picture below, I would like to use 1 subframe, 1 burst, and 2 types of chirp. Then should I use advanced frame mode instead of frame mode?

You can use legacy frame mode in this case.
